Sheila P. Carrigan – Founding Attorney and Shareholder
A former judge, experienced trial attorney, and trained mediator, Ms. Carrigan applies her intelligence, tenacity, and insight to each case after carefully listening to the client’s overall goals. She is a compassionate listener who works primarily to empower her clients. While focused first on helping families settle their disputes out of court, she is an excellent litigator when necessary.
Ms. Carrigan has extensive knowledge of family dynamics, child development, addiction, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and mental health issues. She has specialized in various areas of law over the course of a career spanning several decades, including public service as a prosecutor and municipal judge, and private complex litigation for a large firm in Denver. She also has experience as a successful real estate agent.
Ms. Carrigan is currently a volunteer attorney at Boulder County Legal Services, and has held leadership positions in a variety of legal and community organizations including the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors; the board of the YWCA of Boulder Valley; the University of Colorado Law Alumni Board; the Colorado Municipal Judge’s Association; and the Boulder Interdisciplinary Committee board of directors.
